UNDERSTANDING METABOLIC HEALTH

What is metabolic health?

UNDERSTANDING METABOLIC HEALTH

Metabolism is the set of cellular mechanisms that generate energy from our food and environment to power every single cell in the body. When these energy-producing pathways run smoothly, we have optimal metabolic health. Since all cells in the body require energy to function, metabolic health is foundational for wellbeing.

In a clinical setting, scientists have identified five key measurements to evaluate metabolic health without using medication:

If we meet 3 out of the 5 criteria above, we have what’s known as metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance syndrome. Metabolic syndrome increases our risk of developing chronic diseases like Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.  Being metabolically healthy isn’t just a checkbox to increase our likelihood of living longer — it’s a way to improve our chances of enjoying a high quality of life and health throughout our lived years, with minimal suffering from mild and severe illnesses alike.

UNDERSTANDING METABOLIC HEALTH

Metabolic syndrome also known as insulin resistance syndrome, is a group of traits and medical conditions commonly linked to overweight and obesity that puts people at risk for both cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Most people who have metabolic syndrome have insulin resistance. The body makes insulin to move glucose into cells for use as energy. Obesity, commonly found in people with metabolic syndrome, makes it more difficult for cells in the body to respond to insulin. If the body can’t make enough insulin to override the resistance, the blood sugar level increases, causing type 2 diabetes. Metabolic syndrome may be a start of the development of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease (fatty/plaque buildups in artery walls (atherosclerosis).

Data from several studies have demonstrated that the metabolic syndrome is associated with a 3 to 4 fold increased risk of cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular mortality, and stroke. Metabolic Syndrome involves a cluster of symptoms that, when present together, increase the chances of acquiring a chronic disease, such as diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, Alzheimer, as well as cancer.

VISCERAL FAT: THE “HIDDEN FAT”

VISCERAL FAT: THE “HIDDEN FAT”

“Too much body fat is bad for health.”

DANGERS OF HAVING EXCESS VISCERAL FAT

Having excessive visceral fat is a sign of metabolic syndrome, a collection of disorders that include high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol and insulin resistance. Together, these increase the risk of stroke, heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

META BOOST: METABOLIC TRANSFORMATION

More than 9 years of research and development, a Spain proprietary and award-winning probiotic strain BPL1® (Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis CECT 8145) is developed with clinically documented results in improving body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), and central adiposity. An extra milestone with the exclusivity of Heat-Treated (HT) BPL1® postbiotic compound is an exciting breakthrough to maximize the microbiome efficacy for the best outcome. Pre-clinical research indicated strong potential for HT BPL1® to positively affect parameters of metabolic health, including reducing abdominal visceral fat. Lipoteichoic acid (LTA) is found in HT BPL1® postbiotic and this powerful active ingredient has demonstrated great ability to reduce fat accumulation by activating the IGF-1 (metabolic) pathway, a crucial regulator of aging, immunity, glucose, and lipid metabolism.  In addition, META BOOST comes with additional multi-Vitamin Bs to promote metabolism of fats, carbohydrates, and protein as well as to boost energy level. Zinc and Vitamin D3 also added into the dietary formula as they are crucial to regulate lipid level and reduce metabolic inflammation.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND META BOOST

RESULTS:

CLINICAL SUMMARY

CLINICAL STUDIES

MECHANISM OF ACTION: LIPOTEICHOIC ACID

Lipoteichoic acid (LTA) from Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BPL1® postbiotic is an important breakthrough that clinically showed it reduces fat deposition via IGF-1 pathway, thus improving glucose and lipid metabolism.

The researchers discovered that lipoteichoic acid is responsible for its fat-reducing properties of the probiotic strain and that this attribute is preserved under hyperglycaemic conditions. They further found that this fat-reducing capacity of both BPL1 and LTA-BPL1 is removed under glucose restriction, as a result of changes in LTA chemical composition.

Moreover, the study demonstrates that LTA exerts this function through the IGF-1 pathway, as does BPL1® strain, opening the possibility of using LTA as a novel postbiotic, whose beneficial properties can be applied therapeutically and preventively in metabolic syndrome and diabetes-related disorders.

ARE YOU EXPERIENCING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS?

Losing Weight

Overtly, metabolic dysfunction looks like obesity (dysfunctional body fat storage, often measured by BMI), insulin resistance and diabetes (dysfunctional glucose processing), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (dysfunctional management of glucose and fat in the liver), cancer (cancer cells thrive on excess sugar), Alzheimer’s disease (now being called type 3 diabetes, with evidence of insulin resistance in the brain), cardiovascular diseases like heart attack and stroke (damage to vessels from inflammation and excess glucose), and chronic kidney disease (vessels of the kidney impaired by excess glucose).

But more subtly, poor metabolic health can look like the full spectrum of daily pain points of modern living that keep us from reaching our full potential and goals: fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, lack of exercise endurance, infertility, balding, erectile dysfunction, acne, chronic pain, increased appetite, and more.

META BOOST is clinically proven for supporting metabolic health and improving conditions of metabolic dysfunction.
