The immune system’s role by keeping our body defended against any disease or infection. It acts as the body’s defense mechanism to recognize and identify an infection or disease with the goal of restoring and maintaining our body to its normal functions. The primary function of immune system is to maintain good health and to protect our body from harmful substances including pathogens (disease-producing microorganisms), allergens (substances that produce allergic reactions), toxins (poisonous or harmful substances), malignant cells (potentially life-threatening cancer cells).
The immune system is responding to an illness or injury while we are sick, but many people might not be aware that the signs and symptoms provided by our immune system. But sometimes, the immune system may fail to respond. An injury might lead to a bigger health issue or an infection can make us sick even more. This is because our immune system is not balanced to act effectively after the germs have successfully invaded the system.
So, we might think of boosting immune system to keep us protected. However, the concept of boosting immune system is misleading. Instead, the focus should be maintaining a balanced one.
